Fabletown is a roleplay room based on the comic "Fables" , published by Vertigo and written by Bill Willingham (and illustrated by an array of talented people)
In this universe, lands of fairytale, folklore, fable and story are not simple fiction. Each fantasy land is its own seperate world, connected by magical gates. A terrible dark force lead by a mysterious entity known only as "The Adversary" conquered these fantasy lands.
Now those fortunate few who managed to escape live in the modern world of our own "mundane" earth, the one planet the Adversary did not encroach upon due to its lack of magic.
These "Fables in Exile" live in a secretive little community known as Fabletown, nesteled in modern day New York City, or the Farm annex upstate for those Fables that cannot pass for human. Secrecy is top order, their continued safety lasts only so long as they keep the attentions of normal citizens away from their true nature.
Some have dreams of someday retaking the Homelands from the fist of the Adversary.....and the dark forces have their own aims on further expanding the empire
To play in Fabletown you may choose from among your favorite characters in the comic, or your favorite character from any fairytale, fantasy story or folk lore (see guidelines), or you may also create your own original character.
Please read the various sections of the board, we try to provide as much information as we can about the universe the rp will take place in. We ask you help us in sticking to this theme, and have your character's history be in synch with the larger society of the rooms overall rp. In exchange we hope allow players as much freedom as possible for their own creative ideas.
