ROOM GUIDELINES:1. You are expected to know and abide by ImagineChat site rules.2. Please follow the registration process before roleplaying in FableTown so that we may keep track of which characters are being played. Your character may not roleplay in FableTown until after it has been approved. 3. At this time, we will allow each player to have three (3) characters registered. Because FableTown is sectioned off into three separate sections that are not easily travelled between, we strongly suggest that you register one character in each place. 4. The Council is the governing force in FableTown. They approve and deny characters, maintain the website and message board, act as a liaison between FableTown and ImagineChat, and ensure that the players have the best time possible while roleplaying. If you are having a problem, please don't hesitate to contact a council member to discuss it. 5. This room contains adult material and story-lines, and as such, NO minors are allowed. You must be 18 or older to chat at FableTown.

CHARACTER GUIDELINES:1. Characters from the Fables comic are most welcome ( Click here for list and brief bio of these characters) 2. We also give players the opportunity to take an existing literary character of their choice and alter it to fit the modern theme of the room (clever twists a plus!). There are three main categories from which you may take existing fictional characters and adapt them into a roleplayable creation for the room. - Characters from Fairytales, Fables, Nursery Rhymes, or Folktales are welcome. Often numerous fairytales shared the same Homeland (Snow White, Little Boy Blue, Jack and the Beanstalk).
- Characters from larger books, epics, or series that may not qualify as one of the above may be permitted, assuming the self-contained universe is one of fantasy or magic, set before modern times. Each of these realms existed as its own seperate Homeland (Oz, Wonderland, Narnia, Neverland).
However, modern characters who may have visited these lands do not constitute as true Fables. Though Dorothy is a main character in the Oz stories, she is a Mundy who found a portal to the "Oz Homeland". Similiar situation for Alice , in regards to Wonderland. However, any of the characters who were based in these lands as their home, may be played (The Tin Man, The Chesire Cat, Peter Pan).
- Semi-Modern, Semi-Fable. For characters from Victorian times, though they are not from a separate magical Homeland, we may allow a story whereby the character gained longevity in the past of our own world, and is still permitted to exist in our time (Captain Nemo, Dr Jekyll/Mr Hyde, Dr. Moreau).
4. The cut-off for fictional lands to qualify as a "Homeland" separate from our own Earth is approximately 1850. There may be some exceptions if you speak with Council. However, as Fables generally are all characters from medival times or prior, we do not believe characters who lived in lands with electricity, advanced guns or similar technology constitute a Fable. At this point it becomes much like our own Earth, which is unique among the myriad of dimensions as the only one with no magic and modern technologies. 5. Wholly original characters you may wish to create are also permitted. The main criteria for a character in this room is that it be originally from the time period of the Renaissance or any date prior, or a magical realm devoid of technology.
