The Homelands are a hundred different worlds, thousands of kingdoms, millions of different peoples, all linked through a web of various magical gateways.
GATEWAYS
The gateways connecting worlds transport travelers between dimensional barriers. In this way all the realms are linked. These gateways take various shapes. Many are simple large garrisoned Gates, others take a multitude of bizarre forms.
Gateways have been found in caves, through waterfalls, down rabbit holes, inside tornadoes, even within the belly of a dragon.
WORLDS
Each world itself may contain dozens of different kingdoms, each varying in geographical range as well as political arrangements. Some worlds are composed of entirely peaceful nations living along side each other as friendly neighbours. Others contain feuding rival clans and nations ever at each others throat.
There are worlds of great sprawling kingdoms with populated medival metropolis and worlds of barren no-mans land where terrible ancient creatures slumber within their lairs. There are worlds burgeoning with bright magical creatures of all shapes and sizes, and worlds of dark dangerous leagues of wicked forrests, infested with the foulest creatures born of nightmare.
The only similarities between any two Homelands is that no two are alike....and all are now under the boot of the mighty Emperor
Centuries ago the Adversary appeared amongst the happy lands of Fablekind amassing huge armies of foul creatures summoned up from the depths, the Adversary was soon able to conquer one realm, then the next. With growing momentum his forces soon swarmed over the lands, drawing the curtain of his mighty shadow over all the citizens far and wide.
Those who disobey him are enslaved, if not killed outright. The only peoples who enjoy freedom of any measure are those loyal to the installed Emperor.
AGENTS OF THE EMPIRE
Now the Emperors rule over the European Fable Homelands is complete, his baleful eye turning to further conquest even more distant than the ends of his known worlds.

CURRENT EMPIRE
Centuries ago the Adversary appeared amongst the happy lands of Fablekind amassing huge armies of foul creatures summoned up from the depths, the Adversary was soon able to conquer one realm, then the next. With growing momentum his forces soon swarmed over the lands, drawing the curtain of his mighty shadow over all the citizens far and wide.

AGENTS OF THE EMPIRE
- The Imperial Warlock Guild - These wizards and witches maintain a strict stranglehold upon magic. Having catalogued all items of magical nature within the numerous homelands, they grow more powerful with each passing year.
- The Imperial Inquisitors- Stalking the land, these sadistic officers punish unauthorized sorcery under pain of torture, or death.
- The Hordes - The formidable fist of the Emperor, these seemingly numberless legions of Orcs, Goblins and all maner of lower races summoned up from the dark pits are formed into military units known as "Hordes". Each containing thousands of the brutes. Stationed on each Homeland they assure civic obidience is maintained.
- The Wooden Soldiers - Born of the Magic Grove, carved from wood by Father Geppetto, these wooden men are no mere puppetts. Stronger than a human man, they never tire, never needing to sleep or eat. Being made of wood they can suffer nearly any injury and be easily mended. They are the elite soldiers of the Empire. Looking down upon "meat" races as inferior, they serve the emperor valiantly

*RP RULES*
- Characters in the room may roleplay in any actual literary Homeland (Oz, Wonderland, etc) or in a Homeland newly created for the room.
- Though magical, the travel between the worlds still takes a measure of time. Often Gateways are seperated by long distances within planets, and all gateways do not go all places. Thus it is sometimes necessary to embark on month long journeys taking many seperate Gateways to get from the outskirt worlds of the empire to its Throne World.
- Characters of any form are permitted to travel anywhere in the empire. There are no restrictions on looking human as there are in Fabletown. Keeping in mind Goblin/Orc Horde armies guard Gateways and maintain the law of the Emperor.
- Travel from the Empire to the Mundy world is forbidden by the Emperor, unless under his order. Most of the known gates having been destroyed (....most that is)
